Default A cheap Cobra beat out my Escort 9500ix on Florida HP K band?

I have been on a trip with my father in law. He is using one of those 6 year old+ 11band cobras...it's mounted low in the center of the windshield.. I decided to do detector wars and mounted my 9500ix on top center of the windshield. Yes two detectors in the same vehicle but they didn't seem to interfere i.e. no beeping etc when not actively pinged. His Cobra is configured to Highway.
    My escort is as follows:
    TSR ON

    HIGHWAY

    SWS OFF

    GPS ON

    Autolearn off
    everything else regular.

Well ok, my Escort detects all bunch of nuisance K bands in the city which I force learn it (Mute tap 3 times). My escort picks up a Florida speed traps that are KA about 1 second before Cobra (at alleged 75mph).Suddenly the COBRA goes off on K (Escort is quiet), the K grows stronger on Cobra, until it's going nuts (Escort keeps being quiet). Low and Behold we pass a Florida Trooper driving in a lane right to us. Eventually Cobra quiets down as we gain distance. This ^^^ sequence reoccurs few times during the trip.Basically ESCORT was superior at KA, falsing at K and never gave an indicator at a true K.Cobra was ok at KA, picked up every K.So why the hell is his 6+ year old $80 cobra beating out my $400 Escort...I was kind of miffed.

The post can be spaced and returned but when posted it becomes a giant gibberish paragraph.

First Rule of RD Countermeasure Success:
N-E-V-E-R run 2 RDs together- it's highly likely they will interfer w/ each other. There are exceptions, but your situation is not one of them.

To expand even more about internal filtering. As RR states, you have to play with these units to see how much interference is going to happen, crazy things will happen. Cobras do spray an ocs freq (ka) and a weak 3rd odd harmonic which your ix is waiting and looking for, oh, it is another RD, don't alarm. Which can make a RD go hyper or go blind (to prevent false alarms). Who knows? When you run upon a semi trailer's back door or a large sign, your RDs are nose to nose, not good because it can keep shutting down your ix, another RD again? Our Escort expert member can chime in and tell you all about your ix and the Cobras sexual actions (screwing with each other). To bad they can not multiply, you could make money on your RD farm.......

Went bye-bye months ago...no explanations were given as to why.
Guess it's not missed b/c you're the first to ask about it.
