POP in VA and NC

Has anyone encountered POP in VA and NC. I doubt that NC uses it, since they don't use laser. I have talked with several residents and they (along with myself) have never encountered laser in NC.

In the 8+ years I've been able to drive I've owned a top radar detector. I have never encountered anyone using laser here in NC.

The MPH POP guns area approved for use in VA, but I haven't seen one yet. VA mostly uses Kustom Signals equipment.

I've never seen laser used in NC or Virginia, but there are folks on the forum that report that it is approved for use in both states, which is probably true.

However, I have yet to hear a report from somebody in North Carolina that has actually seen laser used. Virginia may be different.

I live in NC and frequently travel in VA...

I've been hit with laser in VA. The VA state police and some local departments have Kustom Prolaser III and a few Stalker LZ1. Laser Atlanta are the only laser guns NOT approved for use in VA.

When I have time I will do some research to see if I can find any local department using a POP capable radar gun in VA. So far I haven't found any local departments using one, I know the state police have Kustom Signals radar equipment.

well i'm glad they dont use laser here in nc. my radar will automatically go off on laser if I have lsaer turned on (thats what u get for gettiing it off ebay) but everything else is good with the radar detector, by the way i have a RX65. But hopefully whenever they do start using laser in NC i'll have a laser jammer and a new radar detector.


Does anyone think laser will get to be a big thing and totally take over in detecting speed? I kinda hope so (after I get a jammer) but what do you guys feel will happen to laser in the furture?

I am not sure how we got onto the whole laser topic when I asked about POP, but yes, VA does use laser. Just got a ticket the other month from laser. I have seen Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield use laser. I don't remember seeing VA state use it though.

Ah, I see what you mean. I actually meant that if they weren't up to speed with Laser, I doubt that they would be up to speed with POP. Sorry for the confusion.
