    Default Stupid cb

I decided that I wanted to put a cb in my car, so I went and bought a cobra, and a 39" whip from radioshack...hooked everything up, and couldn't hardly do anything with it. Go mad...ripped it all out, gonna take my girl out with the money. Life makes sense again

    Default malfunction

Did it malfunction or what? Or just drive you nuts? Turn the RF (receive frequency) knob down if you have one. This will eliminate some of the noise.

I decided that I wanted to put a cb in my car, so I went and bought a Midland 75-822, and a 62.5" Wilson 5000 magnet mount...hooked everything up, and my girlfriend started laughing her ass off because the first thing we hear is truckers, miles away on the interstate, talking about how to get to the nearest porn shop.

I go to the local CB shop and the guy tests the SWR, 1.5 on the end channels and 1.1 in the middle. sweeeeeeeeeet

The best part about it, only 2 minutes to unplug the Midland and stick the magnet mount in the trunk when you're not using the rig. What a sweet setup!

Last CB I owned was back in the mid 70s when there were only 23 channels.

That's exactly the hardware, CB and antenna, I've been using since January and you cannot imagine how happy I'm with the investment extremely useful, very easy to work with, at home I take the CB with me and because I park underground (low clearance) I just unscrew the base (the one that holds the whip) and live just the mag on and put the weather cap on, in the morning the other way around... but I'm using a SHORT-LOAD WHIP, made by Wilson as well, this one works with 5000 and 1000 only, it's about 1 ft shorter but it gives you the very same range of clear signal, in my case about 15-18 miles of open road, flat terrain, no clouds, no rain/snow... if you go for this short-load (it's about $20) you MUST tune it up with an SWR device, but this is done just once unless you change the vehicle and the new one is higher/taller than the other one... enjoy your new toys, drive safely and... try to keep your g/friend happy all the time, if you know what I mean
