    Question Need a CB

I just started using my V1. It is simply amazing. I am now looking into getting a CB. What is the best unit to get if I want a clean install. I have very little space in the glove box and center console and don't want my car cluttered with wires and such. I will post pictures of my V1 install, maybe I can put it next to it.

Cobra has a small one, and Uniden has the pro510 and pro520 which are pretty small.

I have the Uniden pro520 with a Wilson 5000 mag mount. I get insane rang with the wilson 5000 its big but its the best mag mount you can buy. I have used every antenna out over the years and this IMHO is by far the best antenna you can get for a car.

Well I don't know anything about CB radio's...

But I don't think installing it 'next' to the V1 is the best option... unless you don't mind it screwed somewhere into the headliner...

Your best bet is a small Uniden Pro-510, or a Cobra 19, with a Wilson Lil' Wil'. This set-up can be had on the 'cheaps', and it will really let you know if you want a CB or not.

I have a Cobra 19 and have no complaints. I'm always looking for something better but I don't really NEED it...

CB is VERY useful in Ga. Better than the V1 on the interstate

Just wanted to add that my cobra goes back to Ch 1 every time it's powered down. Not sure about the Unidens but I'd chose one that holds the last channel. Everytime I stop I have to reset it to 19...

Yeah, it's a great little radio with a lot of bang for the buck, but that one feature is a deal-killer for me. My radio gets mounted out of sight, where I cannot see the channel dispaly, so changing the channel easily on the fly is not an option.

I will have one before I roll on my next job!

Going to change antennas as well so I may as well swap radios. Gotta fool with the SWR anyway...
