Rat Shack is hardly a CB shop. They will not tune your radio or your antenna. None of the RS stores around me even carry CB antennae in stock.

Radio Shack should be put on the "unmentionable" list on this site.

question : is this set up good enough to use as a counter measure?
    2) how big is the risk of scratching with a mag mount?
    3) is there any where i can buy a "package" from that will ship me both the cb and antenna tuned?
Use a magnet mount with the something like a K-40 antenna if those are still made.
For scratch problem there is no problem if you cut out a piece of car cover or get a car cover sample and cut it out to fit between magnet and metal on car.

It's the most easiest to find especially if you don't want to get fancy or spend too much $$$. You can tune the antenna yourself for the SWR. Otherwise you will have to do a websearch as there are specialist CB shops around but alot less now than when I was into it in 1971.

I was at Radio Shack today and they are doing a clearance on their Pro-96 scanners priced at 262.00 until supplies last. I only saw 1 CB radio there and a few antennas. Are they getting out of the CB/Scanner business?

It's still the same but it seems they are carrying less and less. They were at one point suppose to carry Uniden as they are the same as the Radio Shack brand made on the same line at least that's what Radio Shack told me but I haven't seen this happen. Yet but if you want to get a Radio Shack Scanner now is the time to get them when they are on sale and on clearance. Just check each different store or have them check their computers.
