For the last year it has been sitting in it's box since walking away from the trucking industry. I decided to put it to use and installed it in my pick-up. It is a Cobra 29 LTD Chrome.

Nice, I actually just installed my antenn, after having everything for like a year. Have to prepare for this long roadtrip coming up.
I've ran w/a Cobra 29 for a while until I put in a different set up. The 29 is a awesome CB and I still have it as a back up JIC my 200 GTL goes Tits up. It works a great CM and is probably the most underrated CM there is IMO.
GOOD LUCK w/it.
Nice looking CB and chrome at that.
How useful is a CB radio on road trips against LEOs?
In states with 55-60 MPH Truck speed limits a CB radio is a huge asset. Truckers call out any LEO seen. Most of my saves during my trucking career were CB save then verified by my STI driver. Several times I was saved from laser traps by the CB. CB is a huge asset in being advised of a road closure due to a crash early enough to take an alternate route before being stuck in traffic.
So as truckers drive along the highway they announce the LEOs they spot over CB? The original Trapster! LOL. Seems like it could be tricky to specify the locations out in the open highway.
