Stalker ATR Frequency Hopper?

Some sites on the internet mention a version of the Stalker ATR that can supposedly "Frequency Hop" to different frequencies within the Ka band.

"Wideband radars (Ka band) operate on a single fixed frequency (operator selects one of several available), and/or in a frequency hop mode. In frequency hop mode the radar dwells on a fixed frequency for a fraction of a second (on the order of 1/10 of a second or more) and hops to another frequency. The radar cycles between a number of different frequencies. Wideband radars are intended to defeat radar detectors "

Does a version of the Stalker ATR with this capability even exist?

I never hear anything much about it. I also don't see anything on the stalker site about it, you would think it would be a big selling point.

Or was this info maybe based on a proto that never got produced or something?

I think it does exist. I've read about it before. However I don't see where it would be anymore effective against a good RD than a gun that utilizes on freq.

All current RDs are designed to detect anything within the Ka spectrum (33.4 to 36 GHz). It seems that if the ATR transmits for 1/10 of a second in this band the good RD would simply see it as a burst of instant on pulse Ka.

Am I misunderstanding what you're saying about it?

You're understanding right...

I was just wondering if it truly does exist. Every place I've seen mention it has very similar text to the "Traffic Radar Handbook" site.

In general, I don't see this as being very effective against detectors. But I was wondering if someone using a BEL with AccuSweep on could miss this gun. I read somewhere that AccuSweep only scans 33.8, 34.7 and 35.5 GHz, while this gun can supposably supposedly choose any freq between 34.2 - 35.2 GHz.
