I was wondering what the photo radar frequency used in the US is? Specifically of concern to me are the photo radar vans in Illinois. Anybody run across one with their SPEC Display on yet?

From the contractor's site, it looks like a narrow beam of k band. http://www.trafficsafety.com/pss/off.../speedcam.html
Does this mean the picture won't be taken if you are accelerating? The camera will not photograph a vehicle if the speed is not constant.
Very nice, thanks for the info.Originally Posted by vw242
Not in my experience. More than once I've seen a car gun it past a photo radar truck and get flashed while clearly accelerating.Originally Posted by TexasRed
Besides, I'm not sure if that flaw would be a good thing or a bad thing. Yeah, it would be an easy way to keep photo radar from getting you, but can you imagine how brutal it would be if every time someone passed a photo radar van, they floored it? Chaos, I tell you. Chaos!
On a semi-related topic, does anyone know what states use Ka band photo radar?
