    Default Random Antenna question

i dont think it would be possible.(i've never owned any radar detector)
i have read in a few places that depending on the type of windshield you have cuts the reception down by 50% or more. would mounting the antennas outside the car be possible?(or useless)(in a models like the valentine 1)

Darn few windshields have any effect whatsoever on RD performance. There is a sticky thread in this forum which you should have already read before posting that lists the cars known to have this problem. Regardless, don't assume it's a problem. Test it out for yourself before you make a very expensive mistake trying to remote mount it.

if you have a tinted strip just be sure it does not contain metal. if not it shouldnt affect it at all.

you can test it at a speed sign or automatic door and see how the reception changes when you move it to see if theres any effect whatsoever. notice if the bars change or not then you can see for yourself.

radar should hardly be affected at all.... laser sensitivity on the other hand might be cut down quite a bit, but if your worried about laser, you should have laser jammers mounted outside the car anyway.

Something like a BMW 7 series would affect an RD. If you don't have one then just mount it on the windshield.
