Default Sneak Peek! e36 M3 in VA :D

Hey everyone. I finally got my V1 and all the goodies that came with it installed on my M3 last weekend. I have VERY LITTLE experience working with the interior of my car, so it took me about 14 hours to complete the install. I was originally going to mount the remote display behind the rear view mirror, but this location was to tempting! I will have a full DIY with pics soon. Enjoy

Nice pic of the remote display install. I see you are in Arlington. Arlington County PD uses 100% laser, no radar from what I have researched. Makes sense they use laser, the traffic is always dense there being right next to Washington DC.

Thanx for the heads up! I got nailed by a APD, on Lee highway less than two blocks from my house, not to long ago by laser which promted me to get a V1. He was hidden and got me from about 100 ft away.

Be careful about using the V1 for your laser defenses, especially in VA.

The V1 is outstanding in laser detection, but for laser protection... you need a jammer.

I say this because: When you get the laser alert on the V1 you NEED to get on the brakes, the odds are they are targeting you (rarely you do get scatter... but even then you still need to get on the brakes)... since RD's are illegal in VA, when the LEO seems you get on your brakes a bit... or just sees your speed decreasing, they will get rather suspcious... and could pull you over.

I say save up money and invest in a jammer so you can really have (some) protection from this problem.

yea at 100 ft your v1 laser detector is just an early ticket warning device.
