Many people use a "Fuse Tap" to run power from one of their fuses.
Here's something that someone mentioned in that thread:

I'm sure people will have a lot to add...
Thats weird, thats a "how to beat your ticket thread" for me.Originally Posted by jimbonzzz
Uhh - easy. www.the12volt.com find your vehicle's wiring. Find the "starter 1" color.
Mine is pink - they'll tell you its at the "ignition switch harness" but its also got to go thru the firewall. So underneath your kick panel, follow where the wires come out of the firewall, they'll be hockey tape around them. Follow the wires until they are at a point you can work with them with 2 hands, - find your wire - splice it, DO NOT CUT IT - and DO NOT use the valentine 1 piece of junk blue tapper. You can't get thru that wire - its too thick. Split it in half.
Cut the end off the v1 hardwire, so you have access to the "wiring" the metal/copper part of it. Wrap that around the open part of the "wire underneath to the ignition 1. Sodder it, and electrical tape it - or just electrical tape it. Ground you wire to anything that is a ground, I tapped into my 12 volt Accessory ground.
If you're confused, tell us the car year - type - manu and we'll help ya out a bit more.
Thanks, link fixed :wink:Originally Posted by bauzer71487
