Default I turned X off and it still reports (New V-1, 30 day trial)

First, ILOVE the V-1. I had an original 8500 for 5 years, but it was stolen. that detector rocked, but the V-1 is better. The arrow too all but a day to get used to, now I LOVE them. I never realized how much stress they could make you avoid by using them...deff. not a gimmick.

Anyway, I turned X band off yesterday. Yes, I did it right, it wasn't rocket science and it confirms it every time I plug it in. So far in 2 days, I have received 4 X band alerts. This concerns me. For $400, I want the unit to work as advertised. The good news is that I have yet to test the 9500i, so I will send this one back after 30 days and try the Escort. If I like the V-1 better, I will get another unit that hopefully will work as advertised. By the way, I did call V-1 and tell them of my experience.

Welcome to the V1 side. By all means try the 9500i but I think you may be back to the V1. There are a few people here who will not, or can't take your word on the problem with the X band lockout. The X problem? is real as several of us have attested to but it is not enough of a problem for me personally to send it back at this time. They are both great detectors and which ever one you choose I'm sure you will enjoy it immensely.

No, they have heard about this problem from several owners but they can't replicate it in the lab.

Which leads me to believe it isn't happening because of any X-band radar guns.

They don't use X-band in CA.

Also, V1 says that disabling the X-band doesn't block it, just causes the unit not to report it. So that leads me to believe there is either an issue with the processor or with the software.

Older versions didn't have this issue, so sounds like a software issue.

    Hope they fix this soon.

probably has to do with the processor or something there abouts.

    from the versions thread

Did they say if it has any bug fixes or performance improvements?
