    Default V1 v's 24 volts

Well the 24 volts wins that one. Plugged my .826 into one to many lighter socket's this time. You can smell that burnt smell at the plug socket of the unit. I'm told it fries the power filter and something else????. The dude also tells me they can fix it here in New Zealand for around $100. But then the VR warranty will be void right? Also will it matter if they put a different part into the unit nto replace the dead VR bits?.....
I'm also thinking of getting them to send it to the states get it fixed and get the latest upgrade to .863 or whatever. If I do will it come back with no ghosting and only true "J's" like it has now?Anybody got some sound advice pls
PS the plug fuse did go but it took like 3 second by that time my .826 had had it's head fused together.

the upgrade should fix the issue as there are no reports of the current version having your problems.

Looking at your post count, it seems like you would be the type of person that would second guess the performance of the fixed unit. You will probably be more satisfied and confident in a fixed and upgraded unit from V1. Hopefully $100 will take care of the shipping costs. Will VR ship back to you or do you have to get someone involved?

Also you will never be sure how big of a hit the V1 took. It may not even work correctly after the repairs, so for the peace of mind send it in.

Yeah talk about a "smoking gun" :? Have asked the dealer dude to send it back to the states for a fix and a complete upgrade. Hope its not gonna cost too much. Thinking USD $45 for the repair $85 for the upgrade and NZD $100 like you say for post and god knows what for his trouble. Hope to get away with under $350 NZD for the whole thing. cross fingers and toes.
