Is my V1 working?

I just bought a V1 1.8 off ebay and everything appears to be funtioning as normal . I want to test it out so I got a cop friend to shoot it with his k band gun. initially he was parked about 20 feet away from where I was parked paralel to my drivers side

. he aimed right at the side of my tahoe and there was a larger truck parked between us that completly covered my vehicle from this postion I get no warnings on my V1. The cop thought it was because we were so close and there was a truck between us that all the beams were bounced off by that truck. I still expected to get something . he then pulled up behind me and from that position I got full strength K band warning. Should I be concerned about the first setup , I am just very surprised to have gotten no warning what so ever with the gun that close , no matter there was no line of sight , I thought the beams would bounce off something in to the detector.
Any thoughts would be great , thanks .

just showing the position of my car to the radar , my tahoe , the truck , then the cop . each group of words stands is a diffent vehicle.

Basically he said there was a bigger truck in front of his tahoe and behind it was his cop friend shooting k-band radar.

Did the V1 alert normally without the truck in the way? Sounded like it did since you got a full strength K-band warning when your friend was shooting from behind. So I suppose we can rule out the V1 not working properly.

As hard as it seems, having a really big truck in front of you blocking your radar does affect its ability to detect. Perhaps since he was shooting so close to you, there wasn't anywhere the radar could bounce off of or the signal was being bounced off the really big truck in front of you. Were there any buildings or anything or was it just in an open field?

Whenever I'm 0.3-0.5 miles away from the your speed signs that emit K-band and there's a big SUV in front of me, the strength meter goes from like 4-5 dots at that point to 1-2. Keep in mind I drive a sedan and have the V1 mounted in front of my windshield, not up high, so SUV's do block the V1, but there are enough objects around me like buildings and such for the radar to "bounce" off of.

I'm no expert, but that's just my experience.
