Default Grrrrrrrrrr Suction cups on the cold windshield

I got in the car this morning and one of the suction cups loose and would not restick. Took down the V1 and cleaned the windshield and moisted the inner cups and tried several times to reattach...with no luck on the cold windshield. Is there a good solution for this problem?

Order some decent suction cups like the ones from Whistler. If there's one complaint I have about the V1 it's that the suction cups that they are shipped with are just terrible.

Dunk them in boiling water for a few seconds. Good as new (however good that is )!

thats funny....i just got back from repositioning my v1.
i read that the tint strip has absolutely no affect on its performance
so i mounted the v1 about 2 inches higher than it was before, its less than an inch from the headliner now.
my windshield has been cold all day and i was able to reattach it at least a dozen times because im picky and needed it to be perfect! i just wetted the suction cups each time with a little saliva haha...works like a charm

except now...its still not perfect. its tilted a LITTLE bit and not aimed PERFECTLY straight down the middle....is this a problem or am i just stressing over nothing? i assume it would work the exact same because it offers 360 degree protection

    True.

Just get new ones. Its bitter cold here in south Florida today, 50 with wind chill of 40, and getting colder tomorrow. My suction cups, granted are newer, hold fine to the cold windshield.

I can share with you what I did when mine fell off a few weeks ago during bitter cold temperatures here in So Cal. I cleaned the windshield and then I cleaned the suction cups (with water) and then turn the heater on to warm up the windshield. After 10 minutes or so I then placed my V1 back up and it has stayed there ever since.

Also, my car is always parked in the garage which helps a little.

Likewise in MI. While I was out in my jeep, my attempts to moisten the suction cups just ended up with iced up suction cups the moment I stuck it on the windshield
