Default was it instant on from NJST?

Coming home from a terrible night at bogata poker room in AC. I was on the left side of the GSP north local lines between exit hazlet and holmdel (about 117-125) going about 80 mph when I saw a glimpse of a durango NJ state trooper in the median. The SUV have his headlight off and hood facing the traffic and just saw this reflection. But the valentine never came on until I passed the trooper. It came on about 4-5 light (K or X since is dark in the car) side arrow and quickly to back arrow. I was surprise it didn't came all before the trooper but I heard they might use instant on. Anyone think there is some wrong with my valantine one?

I just received mine about 1 month ago from Valentine. Don't know what is wrong with if it wasn't instant on from the trooper

the stir of the wind <as you went by> might have woke 'em up

Its another reason why you shouldnt run out in the left lane any
more than necessary and TRY to keep a "rabbit" in your path
    as a blocker.

Yeah, I'd say it's coincidence. With the "kill zone" so to speak, the V1 definitely lights up all-bars.

I remember years ago I got my Bel 960 ran it in autoscan and got hit by a state tropper on 295. Scared the hell out of me thinking my detetor sucks. Guess what it is not the detector, they use instant on X, very deadly, some think X is dead, but instant on X is pretty effective. Also, later I learned thatt autoscan kills X big time on the Bels, tough lesson to learn, but no ticket.
