Ive had a 8500 X50 for years now, and i think its finally time i give something with a little more range and sensitivity a shot.

Anyone with an extra v1 willing to swap for a week?

Now that is a good deal. But you will need more than a week with the V1. I had one for a week and still wish I had it. They take much more time to get to know than other RD.
I am an X50 fanatic, BUT, I will probably get the V1 as soon as I can afford it. I do think the 9500 is a great one.

I just want to join the dark side.

Why do you have to look for a swap? V1 has a 30 day return policy.

Or don't even return it. If you're willing to ship it to Europe, sell it on Ebay and you might get back more than you paid originally.

well like i said, i simply dont have the $400 right now, but im itchin to see how it works around this part of jersey... If you are serious, id give the V1 with the broken K band a try and get it back to you in a week or two. The X50 was my first detector and i love it... except now i think i understand what i really prefer in a detector... sensitivity and range > "quiet". My X50 really only seems to pick up from .6 miles ... im not sure if its just my unit, or the terrain around here or what... but the V1 sounds more and more like my type of thing everytime i watch a youTube video and its got the bogey counter and arrows, etc.

Of course in Jersey cops still use X, K, KA, and even laser (not as often as the others tho)... so a K less V1 wont be the one im looking to buy, but im sure once i experience the range of the other bands ill have a better idea of the performance to expect in K. Since its a backup unit for you, would you be willing to hold a $100 deposit and return it upon return of your unit via paypal?
