No, you should have recieved lock tone.
Going back to what ghz1 said are you sure you did not press the mute button twice in a row as this will mute the new lock tone.
Is section (A) in the reprogram chart arrow up as default?
Arrow down will kill the bogy lock tone.

    What is your software version?

Version 3.825 has a glitch that causes bogy lock tone not to work.
If all this is correct you need to send it in.

but is there a setting i can change to mae that time less then 10 seconds? i like on my x50 that even if i muted an alert and it went away, the next one instantly came through with sound.

and when yo say the quickest way is to turn the muted volume level lever...do you mean leave it all the way up, or that if i move it a little bit it will cancel them ute effect?

but again thank you for your help.
I was thinking the same thing earlier today that VR should incorporate a feature that allows you to change the amount of muting times.
I know it resets after 10 seconds but what about having a muting table like the K band auto-mute for example? Being able to change the recycle time would be better for people who live in a area where a CVS is on every corner. It would stay muted for longer then 10 seconds, or shorter if some people prefer... Again it's just an idea.

when did 3.825 come out? because i got mine in december.

and im pretty sure the bogey lock tone is not off because i get it normally when its not muted...i think, ill have to make sure.

edit: just went to check the software, and burnt my hand on the damn v1 it was so hot. but its 3.863 or 3.836 i forget, but if 63 is a real version im sure its that then.

June 05 for 3.825 so you are good on that one.

Go by the hospital and try it again making sure you only mute with one push.

If still no lock tone send it in.
Could be a new glitch on 3.863?
Looks like from another thread 3.864 is the newest version VR will update it for free if you bought it from them.

Woudln't it be great if the FCC would let us have an open source V1 where we can tune the detector to PRECISELY our tastes in every way?

ok so here's the deal. i just got home, and i drove past multiple places of falses(hospital 4-5 alerts, main road w/speed sign k and leo X, another shopping center 5 k) i pushed mute once at the hospital, and got no bogey lock tone. when i got the alert for the speed sign down the road i let that go and a block away i got the bogey lock tone for a leo running x. then when i got a k false from another shopping center i muted that and there was an leo at the light a little past it, so i got no bogey lock tone for that.

so my conclusion, all is well when it is no muted, but i get no bogey lock tone when i am muted, and i have the mute lever all the way up.

yea i think its usually right, but i think it ghosts a lot. going down a road behind a leo where i usually never get falses (the cop had forward k C/O) and it would jump around between 1-3.
