I read this entire post and have questions for you ..

Under programming settings setting capitol A and number 8 what is it set at up Arrow or down?

I would set your programming for options 8 and capitol A both up arrow and retest with the muted control knob in the 12-3 oclock position.

and im pretty sure the bogey lock tone is not off because i get it normally when its not muted...i think, ill have to make sure.

edit: just went to check the software, and burnt my hand on the damn v1 it was so hot. but its 3.863 or 3.836 i forget, but if 63 is a real version im sure its that then.

I see that Dave but his reply did not convince me he had gone into programming and checked both settings. What do u think? I would just hate for him to go thru the trouble to send it in and it turn out to be a simple 8 down and A down setting.

sorry about that guys, and dave sorry, i didnt even realise you told me to check that setting. anyway.

as far as (A) wehether its up or down wouldnt make a difference as i always have both the knob and lever all the way up.

and for (8) i get the initial alerts at full volume, and i dont have the automute on(thats what this settign is for, correct?) i only get no sounds when i manually mute the device.

tomorrow i am going to check my settings and report what i get. i think ill go through everything just to see.

Theres the problen right there. OPTION 8 ARROW NEEDS TO BE UP!

Option 8 is volume when u press the mute button, complete mute no sound at all or mute to level of control lever . If you have 8 down you get no volume to the current alert or any other alerts while in mute mode. this will go back to normal about 10 seconds after all signals are gone.

if you set 8 arrow up then when you press mute it will go to the muted control lever volume and option A will make any new bogeys Lock tones come in at normal volume or control lever volume depending on the A setting. A up will make the new bogey lock tone come in at normal volume, A down will make the new bogeys come in at control lever volume or since you are in a muted mode they will come in at the same volume. I would set 8 up and A up also .
Give it a try 8 arrow up A arrow up. please share your findings, im sure this will fix the problem.

Another point I want to make is with 8 arrow up when you press mute the volume will go to where you have the control lever position, so I feel the best position for the lever is between 12 and 3 oclock. With A arrow up any new bogey lock tones will come in at where you have your volume knob position.

thank you so much, that did it. i always thought i worked fine, but i never changed the setting so i guess i just never payed attention. owell now it works.

but 1 thing. if i have the knob all the way up and the know turned all the way down...an alert i mute will be as quiet as possible but bogey lock will be full volume correct?

Thats correct with A and 8 up and the lever all the way silent or turned to the far left, when you press the mute button the volume will go silent but any bogeys will come in at deet deet full volume (or the position of the volume knob) and i believe the unit will stay muted after the deet deet from the new bogeys...
