One 871 sample isn't enough to trigger an upgrade stampede. Many 864s don't ghost. Could be some of the 871s will ghost. Need more data.

If there was a hardware change that required 871 as stated by V, then you will be paying for that, too. Not enough data to tell if this would be a good thing. Need more data.

No more 871s spotted. What's up? Using old inventory or halting 871 distribution for a glitch? Not enough data.

    Not enough data.

Hmmm, I think I sense a theme here. Anyhow, I will be telling VR that my V1 has a ghosting problem, which it does. What they do to fix it is their business and I couldn't care less what it takes to do so. I will however report back if my firmware changes and the problem seems fixed, or vice versa.

The problem is that I have not yet received my 9500ix back from Escort as of today, Thursday. They know I'm here in Cincinnati, so they are supposed to call me when it's ready. I am flying home tomorrow, then flying out again Saturday morning on vacation. I need at least one RD for my rental car, so if Escort doesn't call me by tomorrow at noon, I'll have to keep my V1 for at least another week.

Good plan. It would be nice if they fixed it, but don't want to admit it.

It is OBVIOUS that there is a ghosting issue but like many manufacturers they can not afford a massive recall so therefore are playing stupid. To me the ghosting issue is HUGE because the arrows and bogey counter make the V1 not an "ordinary" RD. They need to get their act straight. Not only are they losing the sensitivity war (mind you to an $1100 and $1600 remotes) but now their distinct patented features are not working properly! For crying out loud I posted video PROOF what else do they want?

I had a interstate IO Ka encounter today with no ghosting. Maybe mine is fixed (fingers crossed). I did have an unidentified X alert at the same time, but it continued after the Ka was out of range. The X was probably a local (they use X) on the other side of the freeway. This section of the freeway is wooded, so I couldn't see what was on the other side. When I talked to Valentine about this, I think it helped that I "played dumb".

Thumbs down Re: 3.864 Ghosting issues w/ videos

I just bought a brand new unit (3.864) and I got same "ghosting issues"
Strange thing.. when i called them i specifically asked if they will send me a 3.871 and the guy said they would...
Used Escort products without ANY issues for years and just got my first V1 and its crap... Glad I got 30days to send this POS back...

Yes, the most sensitive windshield mounted RD that has saved many peoples asses countless times is crap. Good call. Go get a passport and STFU.

They probably want you to stop pasting the problem all over the internet. Like some soap opera.

My V1 is on it's way to VR for the ghosting fix. The lady on the phone seemed annoyed when I told her what was wrong with my V1. If they don't want us calling, first, admit to and then secondly, fix this problem.

I had mine reverted to 3.863 and have not had any issues with it yet. My 3.864 did ghost terribly though. I never thought to make any videos of it though. I'llt ry some with my "new" 3.863.
