Strange Alert

I know I read this somewhere recently, but can't find it.

Got 2 strange alerts today on the v1.

The audio tone was for Laser, but the bogey meter displayed three horizontal lines. Like an E, without the vertical stroke on the left side of it.

What gives, anyone?

Yes, the bogey counter always shows three "lines" during a laser alert.

Yeah, thats whats supposed to happen during a typical laser alert. I guess you dont get much there, huh?

I can't seem to find where it says it, but that is exactly what is supposed to happen. To test it again and show yourself, just get a remote control, point it at the front of the V1, and push buttons. You should get an alert to see the display again.

Everything is fine. What was the other alert??

You know, I have had at least two legit laser hits with the Valentine, and several fakes from infinities, and I guess I never noticed the three bar visual, if that's what went with it!

I need to get out a bit more with my Valentine...to get to know her better! I'm sure that, soon enough, we will understand eachother just fine.

I have had several saves with my v1 though against laser! Yet all have been OP shots.....

"OP shots"? I figger you mean some un else wuz the target, but can't figure out the accronym. Other party?

Anywho, I still haven't yet programmed Laser off, as I had planned -- the idea being that the LPP will handle all the laser work. I don't feel I quite know my V1 or my LPP well enough yet.

I sure know what you mean about the panic, though. Even with the jammer, I still kinda panic when I hear the laser. No doubt that is why I never noticed the 3 bar l.e.d. display accompanying laser alerts. Looking around like a gopher on speed, slammin on the brakes, and trying to locate the source of the alert.
