    Default swap meet V1

I was walking around tonight at the local swapmeet in Tucson, AZ and I came across a familiar box on sitting on some guy's table.
I looked again and there it was.
    V1 box with a sign 20 dollars.

I went over to look at it and I found out that he didnt just have the V1 for sale for 20 dollars, but a brand new concealed display and external speaker, both in plastic, never used, plus extra suction cups, both brackets windshield and visor!!

I am thinking to my self, this has to be stolen or broken or both.
But him having the box, with everything in it, including the manual and suck kind of threw me off.
Well I picked it up, went to my car, tested it to see if it came on and it worked fine.
Its software is kind of weird. Its flashes four digits (0 1. 3 6)

If it's not stolen I will send it in for upgrades etc, if its stollen, I guess it will go to it's owner and I ll be out 20 dollars, not a big deal, I just didnt want to walk away without taking it with me

You can tell its pretty old because no band Id on the front panel. Also, I wonder if it is good on the newer Ka bands.

    Does it work?

The real question is does the upgrade page say this:
"Radar circuitry known in-house as V1.7 gives high performance on all radar bands. Also, it remembers your “mode” setting when shut off. Front laser only" (This is a keeper, hot on everything except 35.5)

    Or does it say this:
"Covers X, K, and all of Ka (33.4-36.0 GHz, sometimes called “superwide”). Laser warning is front-only. Comment: Finds all radars on road today; great on X and K, just okay on Ka--which gets to be more of a problem with each passing day now that Ka has become the fastest-growing radar type. This early, front-only, laser-warning performance was substantially better that the average competitor in its day, but we’ve surpassed it, in a small way some time ago, and now in a large way"
(This is not a keeper, weak Ka, more Ka falses, no mode memory, weaker X.

V1 Description: Covers X, K, and all of Ka (33.4-36.0 GHz, sometimes called “superwide”). Laser warning is front-only.

Upgrade Recommendation: We’re uncomfortable now with the Ka performance of these early “superwide” units. We’ve made major steps up in Ka since then, and Ka alerts are now numerous. If you value performance, we advise upgrading. You will also enjoy far fewer Ka false alarms. Upgrades add our latest front-and-rear laser warning; also “internal” Mode Memory, LEDs for band identification, and POP Protection and Euro Mode.
