I am sure if it was a big update..then the serial number of the 3864's would not come out as You have the latest and greatest..they would have said something...

oh man i just had my .864 on friday, so does this mean if i by another one is it going to be .871, maybe ill go that and see what the differnce and sell the .864 on ebay.

These guys might update quite frequently with little tweaks that don't mean much.It doesn't mean we shoul sell our units and buy new ones.If it is a huge update,we can always send our units in for upgrades..

I haven't really been able to discern any extremely noticeable differences between 3.864 and 3.871.

if it under warranty it is free, else 45 bucks.

v1 site refers to 1.8 pop to be the latest not the software versions so 3.863 or 3.871 will say as latest and greatest cos they are 1.8 pop .

Well... Personally there are few things I am interested in seeing on an updated V1. I'll only consider the upgrade if it:

1. Adds 16ms K POP detection without affecting current POP mode false rate, which I find bearable
2. Addresses the ghosting on K that some report
3. Adds better laser filtering -- Rejection of neon lights and ACC
