Default $139 to upgrade from 3.864 to 3.871

I guess VR likes to charge people for nothing these days. I was really pissed off about this and told them to refund my money.

You cannot be serious. Why the joking smiley? What if you are under warranty? So a tune up is free if under warranty but you have to pay for an upgrade? Did you ask them what is so great about the new version that it costs $139 + shipping or did you just hang up on them?

I am serious. I just like using the joking smiley alot. If you have warranty it doesn't cover upgrades only tune-ups. I did ask them about the upgrade and all they said to me was and I quote "there will be no increase in sensitivity or performance" so I really did not get a straight answer.

I read about V1s going in for a tune up and they come back a new version number along with the tune up. Does that mean that this will not happen anymore? I think I read a thread about a guy who got his v1 on craig's list or something and he sent it in for a tuneup and came back the newest version.

He must have paid for it, because I have never gotten anything from VR for free, they always charge me.

I checked the V1 website to see how much it would cost to have my .812 upgraded to a .871 and it would cost me $139, which is completely fine I can see why they would charge that, they would be adding POP Mode, EURO Mode, EURO X ON/OFF & lots of other little fixes such as the E bug ect... but to have my .864 unit upgraded to .871 for $139 is complete bs especially when VR straight up tells you nothing has been changed. Obviously something has changed or they would not be charging people $139 now would they? or maybe they would?

Very well said, it truly is...

With that said the CS at VR has always treated me extremely well. (Well at least the Tech... I only talk to one.)

I skip the CS/sales reps and get right to business.
