New V1 came today

I received my new V1 today, version 3.864. Did I hear someone either upgrade or receive a new 3.871? What is the real newest version? I powered it up on the way home from work; super sensitive.

3.871 is the newest version out but it's just a board change, no performance upgrade. You have the best detection out right now. Don't worry about it.

Sweet, thanks. I figured someone may know. FYI, I drove through a Walgreens parking lot with K band door opener and the V1 counted them all (even the ones inside facing in), four all together. No ghosting at point blank. Maybe a door opener isn't strong enough to create it, but the led's ramped up to full strength.

Good stuff. When I pull into the parking lot I sometime get all 4, but from the road I usually only get two.

I bought the 8500 X50 to use as a daily driver and found that the X50 picked up photo radar further than my 3.816. Judging by what I saw today with the new V1, I doubt that will be the case with the 3.864. It may be time to ditch the X50.

Could be 3.871 has already been discontinued and they went backwards.

I don't think I bought a returned unit. Don't know if you can. I just called and placed the order over the phone. Paid $399 plus shipping. I was told that the 3.871 is a hardware change. Maybe those are used for upgrades and the sale versions still have the old goods inside.

V1Dave, so you're not a big fan of the newer versions? I really didn't notice any of the issues that guys in the forum are reporting. None of them more than the others. That is, I had a few issues with the fist one I bought in '95 and had the same issues with a unit in '03,'05. Time will tell with the '08 version. So far, all have rocked. I would rate my bogey counters in all of them at 95%, and the arrows are always spot on.

You got a new one, referbs are 359 and you have to request to go on a waiting list.
Oh, you are not new to this, yea I bought the 3.818 POP and it ghosted big time, sent it back and Mike the tech could not reproduce the problem, told him to keep it!
Also I don't pick up laser cruise or toll plaza laser falses on 1.7
35.5 is all they improved and CHP use 34.7 so I'm good.

They shipped mine back on the 20th of August. That's the day the technician called me and told me that 3.864 was the current version. He didn't say anything about 871 and I didn't ask.
