Radar Kid,do what LordV said.That's what I would do.
Your V1 is rev.3.817 or lower,that means your V1 has the old Analog temperature compensation circuit which is not very accurate/reliable and your V1 could fall out of tune without giving you the "E" (error) warning.

Second very important reason is K and especially Ka-band filtering.Older V1's,like yours,have more false alerts,than the newer V1's do.

The used V1 gets sent back to the seller this AM, and around 9AM eastern time I'll be on the phone with Mike Valentine ordering either a refurb, or new unit. Hope it arrives quick! It'll be nice using it on my 4 day weekend!

I had to laugh (even as frustrated as I was) sitting in the parking lot just feet from the facing door openers. I was like:

man, this V1 has some AWESOME false filtering! it doesnt make a peep when my 9500i is going off like mad.

I was about 99% positive something was wrong at that point (the 1% was perhaps a setting that was incorrect - there was no way a V1 was going to FALSE LESS than my Escort 9500i).....but after checking settings again, and then several other known powerful falses, I unplugged it, wrapped her up, and popped the 9500i back up behind the rear view and confidently drove back home.

Sounds like a happy ending.

like I said, I'm like a little kid. no patience, and since I wanted it to use for the long 4 day weekend, I had to pay like $38 to get it overnight. If it wasnt overnighted for tomorrow, I wouldnt have it till Fri or Monday.

I searched Craigslist and found a V1.7.........the guy was asking $250.

I ran the serial, upgrade is $189 and you do get a brand new unit according to V1.

I got him down to $200, we shall see if the deal goes through.

Luckily he's local, so I plan on showing up and plugging his unit and making sure it works.
