V1 better than Whistler?

I can some times be a stubborn person, esp. when it comes to security-related issues. I want to feel safe and comfortable and am willing to pay hundreds of dollars for a well made product. I'm a big fan of Whistler after having gone through three (3) Cobra scanners, which were all returned to Sears and Radio Shack for doing nothing but looking pretty on my window with their little lips sucking on the glass and making cute, adorable sounds when parked in front of some automatic doors. Needless to say Cobra is gay and trash.

But anyway, I'm a HUGE Whistler fan and enthusiast but am also aware having based this on Youtube videos, the V1 website and customer reviews that the V1 is superior to most radar detectors. Is it better or just as good as the new Whistler XTR-695? I don't care for the little gay arrows on the V1 telling me where the cop is from, I just want to know if the detection and distance is any better.

Those little gay arrows can save you more then you think they can.

All those tests done were not the Rev c Platform of the Pro 78 and the 690. Expect the Ka detection to be 20-30&#37; better especially Ka 34.7..

That test was a worse case with the Antenna facing straight up. I'm talking about straight ahead I/0 or C/0 Ka. MEM-TEK also stated that Happya$$ Pro 78 was lacking db's on Ka band. The only way to prove me wrong is buy a Whistler Rd yourself and run some videos. My best Ka hit was 4.2 miles from I/0 34.7

V1 all the way. The... uhm... "gay" arrows as you put it, have already saved my hide twice, and ive only had it for 2 and a half months, no other detector could have had those two saves. Both are in the real experiences section here if you care to read about them.
