I can do the same (RD and Radar in same vehicle) with an older K band Kustom HAWK and I get the same results. If I skew either the detector or radar antenna to the side slightly, the detector will go nuts and will usually display both K and Ka band due to the overload.

If you separate them by about 5-10 feet, then the V1 alerts as it should every time.

I bet that LEO is lurking around here too. Of all RD's why did he picked the V1? He may have some knowledge about the fact that the V1 does well with I/O.

Wondered if that would make any difference using the 1.8 version in his test.

I've done the same test many times, and Happya$$ is correct. The V1 is sometimes overwhelmed when the gun is in the same car. The same phenomenon almost never happens when the radar is removed from the car. The V1 has the quickest reaction time of any RD I have tested, and out-triggering it in a real world test is not common, wheras the 9500 Escorts will be out-triggered more times than not because of their filtering.

More trouble than it's worth for him. He should be visually estimating everyone anyways and only turn his radar on when he knows that he's got someone. Then what does it matter if the person with a V1 slams on break you just owned him with I/O and he knows it.

Thank god that leo has a southern accent cause if I was an escort user, I'd be $hitting in my pants since an Escort might filter out any alert with that quick triggering.

He's triggering so fast is that recommended by Stalker?

I agree that it's not particularly worth it to him, as he could run nothing but C/O and still write tickets all day long. But I don't see how it's any "trouble" for him. Pressing a button is no trouble or effort, no matter how fast or slow you do it.

He does it for the same reason that many of us run countermeasures in the first place. He's obviously into the game. I can respect that.

No. Does not even apply to NHTSA standard guidelines. MPH who invented POP does not even recommend using it to issue citations.
