Or, stated more succinctly, "I want a cop detector."
Such complaints in general, and the OP's complaint in particular, stem from unrealistic expectations about what a radar detector can and cannot do.
Radar detectors are tools. Those who understand how to use the tools effectively get great benefit from them; those who do not get frustrated and complain.
Were some of the responses in this thread needlessly harsh? Absolutely. However, the fact remains: the OP has unrealistic expectations of the V1. If he can learn to accept the tool for what it is, he can still benefit from its use. If he cannot, then he should return it to VR within the 30 days and go buy a 9500ix.
Find me a detector that has all of the features along with V1, plus the range and how well it detects laser.
Those tests were done during the laser jammer shootout, I really don't consider those results 100% accurate. Pretty sure others said the same. I'll agree to disagree until the next radar-specific GOL test is held, which might be soon.
So you are saying there is no possible way of the 9500ci EVER blocking a false alert? What about the other threads where Happya$$ reported a real threat was ignored? I'm just saying, 9500ci should be sold without a filter on it.
I don't care, I want to hear falses. I payed for a radar detector.
Sure it does. Hahaha
We should start an RD/lidar road course to educate people on the different styles on rd's and signals.I think sitting in the vehicle with them will give them a better understanding oh where we come from.Throw in non leo x,k and ka signals(from openers and Cobras) to show them how to react.
All we need now is for RadarKid to jump into the fray.![]()
Every RD has different feature sets. The only RD that will ever have all the features of a V1, IS A V1. So we're back where we started. You are a V1 zombie.
So, you throw out GOL RD tests that show the V1 getting beat on a bogus technicality? RD testing is only accurate, if not done in conjunction with laser jammer testing? The results are accurate. The next results will be effectively identical. Everyone knows the M3 remotes are more sensitive than a V1, except you V1 zombies apparently. Even <<JAZZY>> knows, so that puts you solidly in V1 zombie territory.
I'm not saying that at all. I'm just reporting the facts, which is, my V1 has missed more alerts in the year or so that I've run it alongside my 9500ci, than my 9500ci has. Nothing hard to understand about that, is there? My 9500ci detects police radar better than does my V1, in over a year of real world testing. At the same time, it false alerts almost never. So, your statement that a person has to listen to false alerts in order have proper radar detection is not always true.
Why? Because you say so? I love my 9500ci's quietness. It's absolutely fantastic. I sure a hell wouldn't want it to alert all damn day like my V1. Again, it's not all about you. Open your mind.
I have absolutely no problem with that. Have at it. But, there are tons of people with the opposite view, or views somewhere in the middle. That doesn't make them wrong, or idiots, or whatever other rudeness you've bestowed upon these people in the past. It just means they have a different opinion.
Maybe you should learn how to treat people better.
Hahah, you are acting like that one stupid newb who said I was a LI zombie. Sorry that I buy the products with all of the features, performance, and reliability.
Didn't Jim say he didn't really even think it was accurate? I'd just rather see a concentrated effort on a specific test. I'll admit the V1 isn't the best win I see another radar test. In all of the other radar specific tests held by GOL, V1 won overall.
But the facts currently is that the 9500ci is FILTERING real threats. Plus, you cannot test radar detectors on the same vehicle. You should know this by now.
Meh, I don't care. People come here on a message board making idiotic threats and know the answers already.
Not that I know of.I'd love to know where you got this info from.
Of course you would. That way you can hang onto your notion that your beloved V1 is still the most sensitive, as long as you can.
LOL! Admit? Anyone that still thinks the V1 is more sensitive than the M3 Belscort remotes is not very bright.
Duh. Because the Belscort remotes hadn't been released yet.
Yet, with all that crazy filtering that the 9500ci does, in over a years worth of use, my V1 has missed more real threat alerts than has my crazy filtering 9500ci.
Absolutely not true. I've been running this setup for over a year and have noticed absolutely no interference between them. There is absolutely no way my 9500ci, with it's zero emission M3 radar antenna, is interfering with my V1. If anything, it would be the other way around, the V1 interfering with the 9500ci. Even Michael B said you could safely run a Belscort remote and a windshield mounted RD. My guess would be that he probably knows alot more than you do about radar detectors.
People don't come on this forum making idiotic threats. You're just making that up. And people come in here with legit questions on a regular basis. Just because they don't understand how to use their new device, doesn't make them an idiot. Step away from the keyboard and let us that answer these questions intellingently handle it.
