Hardwired with a kill switch so I never use it. I can use my concealed display mute or my remote mute switch to do any programming also.
I always turned mine on and off with the knob.
Me too. When it is On and I crank my car, it will get 2-3 burst of power to the unit while the alternator is cranking the engine. Having an electrical background, I guess Im a little anal with my stuff. Probably wont hurt it, but I just cant stand watching it power On Off On Off On. Bugs me.![]()
Yes, I do.

Yes, but I installed a switch in the car. I usually keep the volume maxed out so it's a real PITA to turn the knob the whole way quickly while trying to not disturb the mute volume lever.
I turn it off when the car is starting and when I'm driving somewhere with a lot of falses and no risk. I use a circuit that gets interrupted by the ignition but it's still annoying to hear it power on twice. I wish it had a fast startup option..
Here's a solution for the power-on-twice when starting: http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...power-on+delay
