Even a new STi costs less than the Redline.

I'll look into that, thanks for the tips...but that redline is sexy.

How about an 8500 with the S7 antenna?

He could knock the price down under the STi list by trading in a junk detector for an $80 credit.................then again he could do the same for the STi.

Good point. I got $80 for an ancient BEL XKR-700 (no Ka)! Can't turn down an offer like that!

If I were choosing between the STi and Redline, I would go with the Redline. The STi is a good RD though.

No, depending on spacing. But a V1 or any other RD will interfere with the RedLine. The question is how much and if that's acceptable to you.

How much interference we talking about? like random ka alers...false laser...or the range...?

In my opinion, any detector can interfere with another. However, the V1 is much more likely to interfere with a Redline than a Redline is to interfere with a V1. Generally, the falses come across as Ka and interference may suppress police radar alerts. It's just not worth running two inside the cabin at once.

I guess I'll just have to make do with my V1 or save up for a STI or something
There are many of us that run a remote mounted M3 Belscort with a V1. Anything else and you are taking a risk. There is even a video around here of a RedLine and an STi interfering with each other. I suggest you not run two detectors inside the same cabin, regardless of what they are.
The STI and Redline are considered undetectable. Although they do emit much less, they emit something.

The problem is with newer RD's they scan segments to prevent falsing to cheep RD's. This doesn't always cause it to alert to non existent radar (like a cheep cobra going passed you), it will cause the RD to hang on a frequency to see if its actually a false. Therefore delaying the alert.

The RedLine doesn't interfere with the V1 (depending on spacing), but the V1 will interfere with the Redline. What i have found is it will cause the Redline to alert later than if there was no V1 running with it at all. Usually it slows its reaction time ~2-3 seconds 20% of the time, and causes a slight delay alerting ~1 second most of the time.

There are times where the amazing off axis sensitivity of the Redline shines through (usually when i need it) but even the times it doesn't the V1 always alerts just fine.

Great suggestion. Too bad they don't sell them anymore.
