Hi guys n' gals,
I've taken a slow step forward, nothing compared to some of you. From an old Whistler back in the early 90's (saved my azz more than I can count), to the Bel Vector 985 (speaker went out, soldered on a new one), on to the Escort X50 (numerous false Laser alerts due to engine rpm's), and finally, the V1 purchased 1&1/2 weeks ago from Mikey.
V1 - Beautiful RD, love the arrows, "sensitivity", rear detection, numerous programmable features, and perfect ramp up, including city (l, logic) with personal settings...just truly miss the band specs, brightness control, and overall better text display on the Escort. The reason I purchased the V1 is for the sensitivity, a slight "scatterable" chance from Laser, and arrows which definitely help with situational awareness. For the SA, I'm giving up the band specs which I've grown so accustomed to - another SA tool. It's either arrrows or band specs at this point.
To be honest with you, I don't believe the Belscorts have the quality as compared to the V1's. And that comes from personal experience on the Belscorts and years of research on the V1. I'm just itching to try out the Redline during the 30 day trial period. Love seeing (youtube.com) the Redline's sensitivity, especially ka off-axis, and overall "slightly" - within 1 second - better detection on k n' ka bands...just not a fan of the misleading ramp up, lesser rear detection, and lackluster QT.
* Audio alert is meaningless to me...never used it on the 985. As compared to the RL's LCD text display, I still haven't accepted the V1's old LED display (dots n' numbers) with absolutely poor band readout. Love the bogeys, though.
Any recommendations are much appreciated.
Thanks
