The logic modes DO NOT FILTER Ka. There is absolutely no reason for it. Logic and Advanced logic filter X and K only.

*Correct, But In logic mode it does not effect K. In Advanced Logic then X/K are effected.

**In either Logic mode KA is NOT effected

you may of noticed the VR sometime spin line's to call in's when the tech feel's "it's to hard" works with most poeple. We all know that V1 ka filter is the Ka guard and the "J" alert. Bell are the one's with time delayed Ka filter up to 3/4 of a sec extra (Auto Scan) V1 have without contest the number 1 ka band filtering on the market. No need for the tech display
If you dont agree try turning off the Ka guard put the unit into large L and see how many false Ka alert's you get. By the end of the day you will think you have got a bell in you window

Default I think your settings are fine...

I run mine basically the same as you, except I have it set up to kill K band rear mode. So much falsing on K, killing rear K eliminates a lot of noise.

Personally I think you experienced a very competent RADAR operator. You were even on a curvy, hilly road too, which doesn't help.

When I do one of my hauling jobs, I'm towing a 24 foot enclosed trailer. Usually the gross weight is pretty ... exciting. When I'm towing, I run ~67 mph for safety and fuel mileage. 13.25 mpg ain't that bad towing, but gets much worse when running faster.

Anywho, I run V1 regardless of the fact I'm 3 mph under the speed limit. It let's me learn the ins and outs of how LEO's use radar/laser. So on one occassion, I'm on a wide open interstate, its dark can't remember the time, and there's not much traffic ... when FULL BLAST KA hits out of NOWHERE. I hadn't heard a peep out of V1 previous to that (because the LEO hadn't triggered it for quite a while I guess).

I never saw the LEO until I had passed where he was, and he turns on his headlights and pulled out. All I can guess was he was dissappointed with my speed and left to find a better fishing hole.

If I had been way over the speed limit, I would have been putting a money order in the mail soon after. I would not have had any chance at all.

Regardless of the level of RD your equipped with, under certain circumstances you will get NO WARNING. That's the game, you wanna play? Sooner or later you're gonna pay. V1 does a good job of making it later (and a lot less frequent), rather than sooner.

Default Constant on ... no problem

If LEO's are running constant on in your direction, even with hills and curves, you gonna get some warning with V1.

But I'd dam shore have a cheap RD available to hand over to the RCMP instead of my V1.

How much warning do you get Is it useally a close call on either k or Ka band. Where did the RCMP get you and how did they know you had a radar detector.

    Default i'm confusing it...

The guy didn't get a ticket, from what I understand. But if a RMCP see's the RD, they will confiscate it. So have a cheapy on hand to give them instead of the V1.
