What's wrong with dreaming? You Scorties do it all the time too!Hoping for Belscort to make something better than the V wonder; hoping they fix the ramp up issue; the quick trigger issue; for them to stop thinking about their pockets and for them to stop making/pull the other crap detectors. Have they done it?

Exactly, nothing wrong with dreaming. I already have better than the V wonder, even my IX was better IMO. Escort made my dream RD with the 9500ci, I don't need QT sensitivity under .6 seconds, and I don't care about ramp up at all, its not necessary for me. Arrows would be a nice entertaining feature added to the Belscort line up though.
The dozen or so other models are there for the non enthusiast who don't want to spend 300+, at least Escort sees the benefit to catering to all, and not discriminate the less fortunate.![]()
And just like how you will find any excuse in the book to defend the BelScort quirks, we will defend the V1 and the marathons will never cease...hahaha! We are talking about Belscort here aka all about the money! I'm sure the less fortunate will do just fine with the Solo, the Qi 45, ZR4s......
Mike might be slow with his release but at least he's not distracted by subpar models. Leave that to Whistler and Cobra to corner- well maybe not Cobra. If Belscort was less distracted we prolly wholud have had a better rd, but since that's not the case the V1 will be ontop.
I do it with all RD's, even the V1. We are hyper sensitive to BS stuff that happens maybe 2 percent of the time. V1 has plenty of design quarks, but they aren't focused on, Just Belscort quarks are. And that's why ill always give it right back.
Any good business is about the money, VR is no different, they just choose to limit there buyers choices.
Sure, most people will do just fine with the Qi 45, ZR4s, especally the X50. Its when you come to a forum with very closed minded and brand driven people that its an issue.
I was as happy as pie with my 9500I, it saved me many many times and did what is was supposed to do. No issues what so ever till i joined this forum and saw all the BS complaints about stuff that may happen 2 percent of the time. Just stupid IMO. Its like complaining about the V1's not so great 35.5 off axis, its really not an issue.
Its really disappointing that now i have spent thousands just to see what everyone is touting is the best just to find out there is no major advantage. It all comes down to features you like/want.

I agree any good business and the money bit and I have no issues with that, but this is not Belscorts model and if it affects (reliability issues) me the consumer, its a even a biigger problem. Escort needs to consolidate the 2 entities and make a 1 brand detector. It is this business model that is holding them back. They are sooo focused on the money they cannot innovate the awesome detector we are all waiting for because it WILL AFFECT the sales of the others. If they did this, then more likely V1 would have no choice to step it up a notch.Any good business is about the money, VR is no different, they just choose to limit there buyers choices.

So you are saying that it was worth spending $1600? Is it really that much better than the $400 detector? The V1 definitely has an issue and I would love to see this improved! But has anyone ever gotten a ticket due to the lesser range?I was as happy as pie with my 9500I, it saved me many many times and did what is was supposed to do. With all that money spent it only it would seem to me that you walked away with features. The only Innovation that Belscort has done is Stealth! Everything else is eye candy, but this is what you look for in a detector then so be it.ts really disappointing that now i have spent thousands just to see what everyone is touting is the best just to find out there is no major advantage. It all comes down to features you like/want.
I'll stick with my $400 V1 until Belscort truly makes something better IMO.
There business model is no different than any good companies, they look to improve and expand. Belscort has some of the most reliable RD's and great customer service, stuff happens to all RD's.
In my industry a more financially strong company bought another and it took them almost 10 years to assimilate them and use only 1 name. It takes time to do it right.
I just hope when/if they do merge the name they adopt is the BelScort title.
I was talking about my 9500I, no big sensitivity difference, no false alerts, speed trap save, and did the job well no tickets. Even cost me less than a V1.
As for the 9500ci its worth the extra $$$ IMO because it it gave me the most sensitivity available and all the features i love so much and laser jamming that has worked flawlessly so far. Sure my 9500i would still be fine so i didn't necessarily need the 9500ci, but i am an enthusiast and wanted to run one. So far its been great.
Call it what you will, eye candy, technological advancements, features, they are all things anyone can benefit from.
Yes full stealth was a ground breaking innovation, but the dozens of other features they make are of huge benefit.
Maybe if i didn't experience them i would feel like they were more eye candy but:
-Having a speed trap save that no non GPS based unit would have gotten me a ticket made me a believer.
-Had a few RLC alerts that could have saved me a ticket.
-Driving with clients or your family in your car and not having it blaring the whole time. Almost a Cop detector.
-Even some have realized there RD's have almost become useless due to traffic monitoring sensors, and Escorts eye candy solves this problem.
I would stick with your V1 too, Just like how i stuck with my 9500I for years. The V1 is very well rounded, picks up radar extremely well, has arrows, and its not as nosy as some think. Just a great RD, just is missing technological advancements that could make it perfect for all. But its not that big of a deal, just like Belscorts lack of ramp up/QT is not a big deal for most.
