    Default Not sensitive enough?

I just bought a V1 off of Craigslist after doing a couple weeks of research on RDs. My general understanding was that V1's gave a lot of false positives. I've only been using it a few days, but virtually every time my V1 has gone off I've seen a LEO. I read another thread on this forum that might suggest the need for my V1 to be serviced. I'm using the default settings and the ka band is the only one to show a reading so far. I've driven past plenty of shopping centers the past few days without hearing a chirp. Maybe I'm looking too far into this, but I figured I'd ask for some feedback. Thanks in advance.

Congrats on making the decision to purchase a V1, it is a great RD. Hard to say what happened to your V1 before you purchased it but this is not normal. I would sent the unit in to V1 for repair. The serial number must be on the unit for VR to work on the unit. Good luck.

One more thought, you did not mention the version that you are using but you might consider upgrading when you send it in. You may not need the version update but I fought that I should mention it.

Most automatic doors are K-band today. Pull up to one to see if your V1 is working properly. My Father's 3.813 lost K-band and needs to be sent in.

The previous owner might have programmed K-Band off. Go through the program settings just to be sure.

I would also suggest reprogramming the unit first.

You bought it off Craigslist, so I would make sure it is not stolen and send it in to be serviced regardless of whether it seemed okay or not.

Nice choice on the V1. Both V1's I've used have detected k-band falses. Ka band falses are not as common, so I wouldn't be worried if it is detecting LEOs. Be sure k band is enabled.

Which software version is it? To find out, push the knob down, then turn it on while continuing to hold it down. Once it lights up, push the main button once and it will tell you the software. You may want to send it in for either a tune up or an upgrade.

Feel free to ask any other questions.

I double checked the settings, and K band is turned on.
    I'm running version 3.789.
At this point I'm wishing I would have just bought a new one. I paid 295 for it, and if I have to send it in I'll have sunk around 350 into it.
