thats what i did with my bel 300. shut the laser off since it was falsing alot anyways...now when alert happens, the Li's take care of business.
When my laser goes off there's a Infiniti qx56 suv around. Good thing it hardly happens them trucks cost mega bucks
New V1 user here...got mine about three weeks ago, I noticed this on the first day and don't like it. My old 8500 X50 never gave me a laser false, never in 5 years of ownership. +1 on getting a setting to decrease laser sensitivity.
Yesterday it went off to a red neon sign in a parking lot! Kind of annoying IMO.

Havent really heard of v1 falsing alot...I have a bel pro300 and like all the bels from 2005(995v, rx65) all falsed laser constant...I had to shut it off and just roll with my Li's jammers).
What i would do is put your v1 in another car(if not hardwired already) and go by the sign or a known place where your v1 falses and see in another car if falsing. If not, it could be your car from alternater noise to amplifiers in your stereo. (these were all told by bel when i had my issues....i wound up just shutting laser off, after all w/out a jammer your toast anyways..) Contact cliff and hell hook you up with Li's.

Or we can lobby to have the manufactures make 3rd brake lights and their adaptive cruise control to use a different wavelength.
