    Default Radar Detector Detectors

I live in Maryland and travel occasionally through Wash DC & Virginia where I know RD's are illegal.

How aggressively do they enforce / pursue cars that they detect having a RD ?

This "could" help me decide between a V1 or the STi.

I have read that the V1 is pretty well shielded and more difficult to detect than the other RD's EXCEPT the STi.

How concerned is anyone else about using the V1 in DC or Virginia ?

    Tim

    You should be OK......
The V1 is undectable by the VG2.
Which is what I believe they use in VA.

You're welcome to come to Ontario we have the Spectre up here......

I thought they were able to detect it at under 500 feet Horn?

Several states do IIRC. Just not the ones you need to be concerned with

V1 latest revision appears to be very well shielded against Spectres. ~50 metres at SML and 30-something metres at GOL. Coming towards the Spectre. At GOL they detected the V1 going away at something like 100 metres, that's quite a bit more
