Disappointed with my Pro73

I have had this detector for at least 6 months. I ordered from shipdog and it was on backorder so it was drop shipped. I don't know if I received a bad batch or what.

My main concern is that i travel down a main highway quite often, with highway patrol always waiting on the side of the road, And my detector does not pick them up, maybe 1 out 10 times it picks it up and i have already slowed down from seeing the cop. Has anybody else had extremely weak results from this same detector? The radar is in K band or Ka band. I never see laser around here.

And i know for sure it is not my fault cause i have tried the detector in different spots on the windshield, different vehicles, the roads are flat, no vehicles in front of me.

All the bands run succesfully when i first turn it on.

Just because the cop is sitting on the side of the road does not mean he is using his radar, alot of times they just sit there and that is enough to slow down traffic.

If you know for sure he is clocking people send your unit back to Whistler and have it looked at.
It has a 2 year warranty and they will take care of it.
Whistler's customer service is A1!!!!!

Man, this is the first time that I heard really bad things about the Pro73, I have always heard good things, must be a defective unit or like the other two said, RADAR wasn't on.

Take to a known "false" location and test it out. I know that here, any of those big home improvement places with double doors for lumber have really strong K band signals.

I would send it in to whistler customer service anyway. Just to ensure no damage occured during shipping. A rd is not a cop detector its a radar detector. It detects radar. For some reason people think detectors pick up cops. They pick up vehicles that have radar emitting from them. Which likely can be a cop car or it can be a school bus a security van etc. A cop detector is something that if made would be a hot selling item. Some cop cars dont have any radar guns in them at all. Or if they do its seating in their backseat not being used.

i realize that cops do not always have there radar on but you cannot tell me that only one out of ten highway patrol is going to have it on. I do have a "your speed sign" radar by me but it sits on the back side of a hill and when ever i do get over the hill it picks the radar up(about a 1/8 mile from sign) with about a 6 signal strength. But what makes me mad is when(this has happened multiple times) i am driving and i will be within 400 feet or so of the sitting cop then the ka band will pop up. When i drive by stores (me still being on the road with the store about 80 feet to my right) and pick up x band, it does not pick the band till right in front of the store maybe that is just because it is off to the side or the signal is not as strong. I guess i just need to find my receipt and send it back.

man my friend i have been drove bye 4 highway cops all of them hada dash mount radar units and none where useing there radarunits maybe they are skilled cops that only use instant/on radar some dont run there units on constant/on only use instant/on
so dont worry to much. still ifit makes you feel better dowhat boomerman says :wink:

Ya I think there is something wrong with your detector, I would send it to whistler customer service. This might sound stupid but check to see if you took the plastic off the lense.
