YOu waste valuable resources trying to detect something that is useless.Originally Posted by kuba

Not really, SWS isn't sweeped separately. SWS is only checked during a K-band alert, and since these units can't detect multiple signals anyway it really doesn't cost a thing.Originally Posted by happya$$
But POP OFF is definitely recommended to prevent a flurry of junk detector falses.
Well maybe it is different for Whistler but I know for other manufacturers this is the caseOriginally Posted by jdong

Well I don't want to make an already struggling forum server any slower by trying to search out the specific post, but I did once ask Mike B specifically if there's any performance benefit from turning off SWS and he responded no.
But at any rate, since the chances of seeing SWS is zero, wasting our breath debating about this is pretty silly ;-)
yeah good point lolOriginally Posted by jdong

Yea leave SWS on.
My dad actually was driving through Michigan and got two confirmed SWS alerts!
One was a "caution" alert, and the other was "emergency vehicle ahead".
He told me the range was about 1 mi in both cases.
hah really, what part of mi
