Default WRONG DECISION to buy pro 78!

sorry to say that,i feel so bad that i bought the whitler pro 78!i think it is as same as corba detector, it is a junk!first i only have the k band alert 100 meter b4 the radar if i drive 65 km/h,but if i drive at 90km/h i can only receive the alert after i pass the radar, this means that is no use for detect the radar!secound my place only use rear laser to check the speeding car and the pro 78 only have a small lens to detect the rear laser hit from rear!and today i was driving 73km/h and a police use a laser gun to hit me form the rear,my junk pro 78 didn't have any alert and because of that i got a ticket!i will sell my pro 78 and buy a V1,i am very regret to buy the pro 78!i did some research b4 i bought the pro 78,even Rardar Roy said it is a good detector!but finally i found out it is a piece of junk only!

Sorry to hear that, but in my case (as well as many others here) this radar detector has severed us very well. Is it as good as the $400 dollar v1...no, it is probably not even as good as the x50. If I had the money sitting around for a v1 hell ya I'd buy that over a Pro78. But I don't have that kind of money and for what I spent the Pro78 is more than I asked for.

Also, with the V1 don't expect it to save you from "laser from the rear". A radar detector wont help you much against laser. The beams is too narrow so when you are getting an alert, chances are he/she is pointing right at you and has your speed.

hey, I didn't want to completely bash the pro78. And despite that, there are some times where it is comparable.

    A couple things

    1. Learn to spell...........ok thanks

    2. No radar detector will save you from laser, even if you get an alert the police already have your speed. The only protection from laser is a laser jammer.

    3. I'm not sure what type of radar you are going up against, but it has been shown that the Pro 78 does very well against K-band radar, I have gotten over a 2 mi. K-band warning. So those sound like irregularly short distances for detection, so you may have gotten a bad one. Just curious where did you purchase your Pro 78 from? Hopefully not ebay.

It sounds like you need to do A LOT more research when it comes to this subject, instead of coming in here and bashing a well preforming detector because it didn't save you from laser!

Laser detection without a jammer is just a ticket notifier. Even if you had a V1 buddy, you would have been toast. I have had many long range saves on my Pro 78.... and great off axis detection as well. With Rev C POP off, the range is quite amazing!

I bought mine off of eBay, but its performance is good enough that I know it is real. It was from a very reputed seller (over 10k feedback, 99.9% positive)

Pro 78 has great Kband sensativity... hell even my old Whistler 1743 had a 2.5 mile K save!

I have $1000 RD and it didn't save me from a point blank rear laser shot either. Must be a piece of junk too! And I passed 2 cops with no alert! I'm throwing it in the garbage tonight!

He will hopefully respond by mentioning your lack of capitalization and proper punctuation, and then it will be just like school!
