as i stated these bracket sucks, where ever i put it it still is not sturdy and yes i do have the little rubber ball, i was wondering if i could use a bel or escort bracket, or what else can i do to make it sturdy.

I know a lot of people-including myself- rest the unit on the rear view mirror. That is, if you have it mounted above the RVM.
Not sure about a bel/escort bracket, but I have doubts.
I'm pretty sure those brackets won't work. I use super lock fasteners made by 3m at Radio shack. My unit will not move unless your on a dirt road. I would recommend mounting them above your RVM hardwired. It keeps it out of the sun and the thieves eyes.![]()
I have alot of videos on youtube just type in Whistler pro 78 and Griggja82 is my screen name and look at my install. Basically you clean your windshield really well and peel of the sticky tape and stick one to your windshield and then put your bracket on it while holding it with out your unit on it.And get the other fastener and stick it on like velcro. MEM-TEK has better directions than me. You can Pm him.

Sorry, but the Bel/Escort bracket is totally not compatible with the Whistler bracket. I am willing to bet that most of your radar detector vibration problems are coming from where the bracket goes into the top of the Whistler radar detector. What I did when testing the Pro78 was to bend the bracket downward and then bend a somewhat closer section to the flat part of the bracket which goes into the radar detector upward. The result is that my Pro78 was held very securely without vibrating up and down on the bracket.
