    Unhappy Pro-78 - continuous alerts.

Hey folks - new to the forum - glad to be here. I've had the 78 for several weeks now and it worked like a champ until last week. Now after the self test it immediatly starts alarming Ka band at various levels and just doesn't stop. On occasion it appers to work normally. This malfunction shows up in multiple locations and only upon starting up the unit. Very frustrating - it's a great unit that I think is now broken??? I have a hybrid Camry - could any of the EMR from the power control module be screwing with the detector??

This is what happened to me on my XTR 105. In the morning after getting slightly cold (50 degrees) it would full alert to Ka, X, and maybe some other stuff. It would go away after being warmed up though.

Default Thanks for the warm up suggestions

If warming up is the issue perhaps it's a condensation problem. Worth a try - I'll see if letting it warm up helps. It's been pretty hot but there is the air-conditioning and humid air. I'll report back after I experiment a bit. Anybody else had this problem??

Yes, condensation could be a factor. It went from blazing hot, to cool in my car. I haven't had problems with my Pro 78 though.

I sent my unit in - Mike turned it around fast - made slight adjustment - I'll report back how it's working. Thanks Mike - you're a fine example of what customer service should be about. Now I just hope this particular Pro 78 unit is as good as all the ones described in this forum.
