    Default Whistler as backup?

Which model would you recommend purchasing as a backup for a high end detector? ie, V1, 9500, etc.?

I would go for their latese Pro 78 or XTR-695 and maybe wait for the new SE Models that would be out soon. I hope because I want one two as a back up.

I'm zero'ing in on a Pro-78 as the backup RD for my pickup. From the videos I've seen (you know who you are) it seems like a pretty damn good detector for the price.

I am really happy with the XTR695 as an alternate/back up to my V1.

I wouldn't choose any of them...

Here is why: Whistler uses an old-school power-jack, unlike any true high-end unit, so if you have a hard-wire job (which all high-end installs should have), you will be stuck with either:

    A) Having to tote around another power-cord for the Whistler (that will dangle down your Wind-shield) OR:

    B) Run 2 hard-wires...

Personally: Its one of the reasons I haven't bought a Whistler, all the high-end units I have can swap-out on 1 hardwire, while a whistler would either need a separate hardwire, or a cord dangling...

I recommend a Bel-Vector series, as any one of them can run off any high-end dash-mount power supply.

I know: Whistler fans are going to cry over this, but its just my $.02 (using logic rather then fanboy emotion).

Why not just buy 2 V1's, 2 9500i/ix's, 2 Pro-78's? Problem solved, plus you can go a little bit faster because your wallet won't have as much in it.

You talking about my videos? I only have 15 of them on the Pro 78

I recommend a jammer before a backup detector.
