Default Whistler 78SE with Stealth Modification

Can anyone tell me what this "stealth" modification is all about? Asked the company on the website what it was and they couldn't tell me.

    http://www.delonixradar.com.au/radar...4-rdd-test.php

    Why post that data then?

Spectre 4 RDD (Radar Detector Detector) Test 2009

    Why post that data then?
what is done is to enclose the detector into a non-leaking microwave case and add a radar horn that specially filters out the detectors own emissions while still letting it receive radar signals.

How exactly this is done I forget now.

Not really so much costly as the details need to be just right for it to work properly.

Makes sense. What might the non-leaking microwave case be like? Does it have some formal name? That would be a small part of the battle but a consistent part.

It does not let all radar in. What it reduces going out, it reduces coming in.

If they use a k band waveguide, it will reduce emissions below k band and reduce x band reception equally.
