^ This just goes to show, once again, how completely stupid I am......

That's something that, I don't know why, I've really never even considered! :hitshead: <---- I know that those are not smileys here, but they convey my sentiments of self-disappointment and missing the obvious.

However, this stupidity of mine has precedent.

I keep playing around with my daily-driver, when I've got a perfectly fun project car garaged away.

Yeah, I really make very little sense.........

Oh, and talk about funny timing:

Just yesterday afternoon, at the traffic light right before I turn into my neighborhood, a fellow car-guy in a Cayenne Turbo pulled adjacent to me, having chased me down from the previous light - we chatted until the light changed again and had to go our separate ways.

I love being a car-person, and having this instant bond with others. That little encounter left me with a smile for the rest of the afternoon, and I know that other gentleman felt the same way. We both laughed at the somewhat ridiculousness of our rides.

    Agreed^

I haven't seen the Panemera in real life but the pix leave me a little cold. However, I felt the same way about the Cayman S until I drove one. Now I love them.

No hotrods for me for awhile.

Don't be so hard on yourself...there are sooo many cars out there it's hard to keep them straight...that's why car lovers such as ourselves can appreciate all different types of vehicles. "Different strokes for Different Folks!"

Again, I love my Cayenne S and if you are remotely considering one you won't be disappointed!

What's even more embarrassing about that little impromptu meet-up was that I'd failed to recognize that his was a Turbo, through my rearview. Otherwise, I'd have started off, at the previous traffic light, with a thumbs-up already (I get a lot of "is that guy crazy? looks, from giving the thumbs-up approval to people who just like to drive nice cars, but are not "car-people" - but I think the reactions I get from people who are fellow car-nuts is worth the embarrassment of the other situations ).

Like you said, there's just too many out there to keep straight. At one point in that hobby, I could've, but now that I've got so much more on my plate, I find keeping up with the year-to-year changes, across-the-board, to be nearly impossible.

    +1.

I certainly don't "like" every car I see - but regardless of my personal opinions, as long as the car's done right (or, if it's just a poor teenager in the driver's seat, that I can see at least he's given it good effort), I'll give them the thumbs-up. I know, intimately, the money, sweat, blood, and swearing that went into the work. I can appreciate the car for what it is, and know that I have a fellow soul-brother or sister out there on the roads.

Variety is the spice of life, and I think while it would be like waking up in car-porn world, for everyone to be driving vehicles that I like, that it would get really boring, really fast.

I know that not everyone out there likes what I've done to my car, but it brings a smile to my face, every time I put up the garage door. I can appreciate that others feel the same about their unique creations/modifications.

Again, I love my Cayenne S and if you are remotely considering one you won't be disappointed!
Believe me, I'm more than remotely considering. Anna's got a lot of "stuff" that we drag around with us, and just last week, when our weekly grocery trip caused the bagger to have to put bags on my rear bench because he'd jam-packed my trunk (clear, BTW, except for emergency supplies packaged into each of the "pockets" between each rear wheel-well and the tail-light area).....

I realized how practical my wife's mini-ute is.

Don;t get me wrong, I'm a big VW/Audi/Porsche guy but I'm not sure I'm feeling the panamera. To be honest, I think its pretty ugly, along with its Bugati cousin. Both of which are based off the VW Phaeton platform.

Rendered/photoshopped image of the cabrio. I must say again that it would easily be the best looking vehicle in it's class...

The only Porsche that Clarkson likes is the CGT. He hates everything else.
