    Question 94 & 100 Octane gasoline

Don't worry, not another lame topic asking the benifits of using high octane gas on a '91 civic.

My new ride takes higher octane gas, specifically 94 *or* 100 Octane (God bless the folks at APR for producing an ECU upgrade allowing octane changes on the fly).. While I'm familar with the gas stations in my neighborhood that sell this, I have no idea where to get them outside my area or how common they are...

I'll be going on a road trip in 2 weeks through NY, PA and down to Washington, DC.. Are there any gas stations in those states that carry this type of gas? I can always step the car down to 91 Octane if required, I just prefer to keep burning the same type of gas where possible.

I'm in Western PA, not Eastern PA where you would likely be going through...but to be honest I've never seen anything above 93 here in Western PA throughout my lifetime. I don't know if eastern PA would be any different. There's probably a station somewhere around here that offers it since we have a major metro region but it's definitely not easy to find, that would be for sure.

Ouch, that could be a bit of an issue. I know there aren't many places in my immediate area that have it. All I can say is don't wait until you're hovering on E before looking for it, if you absolutely want it. For work, I make fairly long trips in diesel trucks from time to time, and have made the mistake of waiting a little too long before refueling. There are many places that just flat out don't carry diesel, especially in smaller towns. It gets a little nerve racking when your fuel light is on, but you can't find the right fuel.

Well, I'm not totally screwed without it... I just have to switch the ECU to 91 octane.. Just the car is "grumpy" for about 20 min after switching it, then things get back to normal...

Anyway, I know this stuff is sold down south, just not sure what stations carry it. It used to be Sunoco here but they got bought out by Petro Can. Does Sunoco still exist in the north east?

Sunoco still exists but most stations don't seem to carry the 94 anymore. At least in the NE 93 is the standard instead of 91 so I can still run my APR 1+ 93 file.

Yeah 93 is probably the highest I have seen here in Eastern Pa. But not to say its not being sold here but that just from me and the gas stations I go to.

Sunoco dropped the 94 octane gas a few years ago. Most stations in Eastern PA have 93 and I know all the Shell stations have 93.

Yeah, I was going to suggest Sunoco for 93 also. I don't know if this is true everywhere but here in PA all of the Sunoco stations are privately owned so the fuel options may vary depending on the station.
