^ They invite total newbies, too!

That's why I've really trusted the GOL - they always give out invites.

    How impartial can you get?

And heck, you don't even need to do any work - you can just observe.

Also, I saw this on RR.net this AM:

Regarding the LIDAR testing. The engineer said they must of used a older
jammer for this test. The Traffipatrol results are not right for this. The
LCM series has had software modified for this, it needs to be upgraded. This
gun is used in Hungary/Taiwan and the XR was jammed perfectly.

Any comments from the GOL ?

Then they must be 'selling' older hardware. It was purchased 7 days before the EVENT and yes we have the receipt.

^ I'll update that to the RR.net thread, too.

I've asked for mhardy and RR.net, who are both members here, to please commend DIRECTLY to this thread, so that things can get straightened-out.

Here are their last two replies:

Again this is not a attempt to dispute the GoL tests because there results are just that. There results..It would be nice to find out how old the products software is on the unit they used just for fun..Thanks

With the serial number it would be easy to know if this was up to date or not.
Like I said on RR.net, guys, I'm not here to start a fight or anything - I just want to make sure that what RR.net posted, of what the LaserMask engineer said, was true or not, as although not a concern of stateside users, it still calls into question as to whether or not "the latest and the best" was tested.

Since the LaserMask does seem to be a good price-for-performance product, and it has generated a lot of interest, via the latest GOL testing, I do think that it deserves a detailed look.

    Let's get this settled.

I'm sorry but we purchased a retail unit, 7 days before the test. It was not from John Turners site that you have quoted. Check the results page for the correct dealer, as I don't want to post a link to someone who competes with radar busters on here.

As far as I am concerned there is nothing more to discuss, the results speak for themselves.

I will not get into the game of letting manufactures say, we didn't use the latest. Or we didn't buy from an authorized 'dealer'. BOTTOM LINE. Your product is out there to buy, and guess what. WE BOUGHT IT.

So as of right now this is NOT a topic for discussion. The first thing EVERYONE needs to realize is that the Guys of Lidar is not in the business of pleasing manufacturers. Honestly if I'm pleasing a manufacturer I'm not doing my job. If I'm pleasing a forum member, I'm not doing my job. At the end of the day we test for ourselves, and choose to share the results.

So take this drama some where else, because frankly I don't care to hear it.

Laser Interceptor shipped two different heads, but their product speaks for its self. Not once did anyone on that team ask us to change out the head. They encouraged us to test it like we bought it, and that's INTEGRITY. So just a warning to manufacturers, making excuses after the event will get you no where. Do it right the first time, or don't sell it.

Not sure where mhardy is getting his rumors from.

To be clear, the unit was blind-purchased directly from Laser Mask USA, about a week before the test. Whatever they were selling at the time is what we got.
