I've again posted on the RR.net thread, where I'm sourcing mhardy and RR.net's replies, respectively, from, for them to come here to reply to this thread, first-hand, as I'm getting tired of being the messenger.
I know that mhardy has visited RD.net since my original post there (yesterday afternoon), requesting his presence here, and am awaiting, as with the rest of you, a proper response. That's why I posted yet another plea, this AM.
Like I said, I'm just trying to make sure that no mud gets slung, and that all the pieces match.
The LaserMask has generated a lot of interest lately, and part of that, I do think, is due to its rather decent performance, particularly for the price, at the latest GOL.
For the sake of those looking to purchase the Mask, I'd just like to see this settled.
I *hate* drama, as most of you know.
But what I hate even more is pieces of the puzzle that don't fall into place.
Thanks, Guys, for seeing this through.
It would be very easy for me to verify what version software was used. If they are a authorized reseller than the reciept that was provided to GoL will have a serial # on it that we can verify if it was old or not. This is not to discredit the testing GoL did. It would just be fun to see what version was tested..The results of the LaserMask are fine in my opinion. The LaserMask is not for everyone. I truly agree with Staton that what ever software was tested is besides the point whether it was old or new. If it was old then it was old and LaserMask dropped the ball. But regardless I still think it did fine for the money it costs.![]()

I am in no way saying the product purchased by GoL was old or not..It was not myself who made that comment..I was just commenting that we could prove or disprove with the serial #..I have no reason to try to discredit the results of GoL. If they say it was Blind purchase then so be it. I think the LaserMask did respectable regardless of what software was used...I in no way meant to pis# anyone from GoL off because I think they are very credable and I have the utmost trust in there testing...As does everyone else.
I haven't done an exhaustive search of dealers for cost comparisons, but from what I've seen, it costs the same as the LI, give or take twenty bucks, depending upon the dealer. So, if it costs the same as the LI and doesn't perform as well, I don't see how it rates as a product even worth considering. To be even worth considering, it would need to either outperform the LI, or be significantly less expensive, like the Blinder.
My interpretation of GOL2008 is that there are really only two jammers currently on the market worth serious and intelligent consideration. All others might as well be the Lager Tar.
It depends on where you buy it. You can get it far from what retail is. The unit tested was a 2 head system and retails for $379..That is a far cry from LI..Everyone knows LI is top dog and why you feel the need to keep saying it I dont know. You sound like a broken record. Not everyone can afford LI but still deserve some type of protection and as many respected mbrs here have said it performed well for what it costs. The 4 head system retails for $579 and that is a real far cry from LI..LI is top dog and worth the money but not everyone can afford it. No matter how much mbrs preach about how good LI is it doesnt change the fact that some people cant afford it and will never be able to..So some type of protection is better than none....On a side note ...The price stating here was not intended as a sales attempt but just to refute the price comparison.
Also I have been in contact with The Staton and Jimbonzzz and they are aware of my source for there purchase of the LaserMask. It was misinfo given to me and they know I was not starting rumors but quoting a reliable source that was mistaken in where it was purchased....Apology accepted!![]()
^ Thanks for coming here, mhardy
