Default Halfway done with the install...

So I recieved my LI Dual today from Cliff (thanks once again)...I had a shop wire up the switch which powers the heads. Everything appears to be working fine. The system boots up and says WELCOME. THen beeps a while cause my foot was by the sensor and then she says PARKING MODE DISABLED or something like that....

I picked up some super sticky waterproof tape today to mount my heads. THIS SETUP IS ONLY TEMPORARY!!!! I DO NOT EXPECT JTG FROM THIS SETUP!!!
THe sensors are going right below the GREEN boxes....

    1) One I install the heads, can i try a tv remote to see if they respond? Any way to test without buying one of those laser things?

    2) Can I expect ANYTHING from my "green" location...maybe "jam to about 700ft"??

    3) If you are using a NON-power exteranl speaker can you please tell me what kind you have....
    Thanks

Bad idea. They need to be bolted on. Over time, tape may deterioate and cause the heads to become unlevel and not straight anymore.

Good. Because if you plan to install the heads low, the setup will provide as much protection as a condom with a hole in it.

Too low. You need to install the heads in the upper grille even if it requires cutting.

I've had no problem with the 3M molding tape after almost 2 years.

The problem with mounting that low is there is so much of your vehicle above that point. When you crest a hill there will be many seconds all that is exposed before the heads are able to see the gun. You need to get them up into the grille area, even if it means cutting the grille.

You may be able to use the LI mounting brackets so you don't have to cut the grille, you'll just have to play with the mounting and see what you can work out.

This setup will only be used for approx ONE-TWO month/s? THe tape will be monitored for the time being...
Im assuming a low LI is better than no LI??

Will my setup have similar results as this video?

It appears to do well with the first gun...even though the heads are so low.

THE HEADS ARE GOING INTO THE GRILL!!!! NO $ TO CURRENTLY GET THEM INSTALLED..lol.

Horrible assumption! It will give you a false sense of security, which is worse than having no jammer at all.

True. Im not gonna drive any differently than I did when I didnt have a jammer. Espically since it will not be installed for optimum performance (YET)!

X2 Then, that false sense of security will result in you getting owned by a GSP laser speed trap and maybe getting pegged with a super speeder fine.

Move them up to the white areas. Trust me on that. We tested someone's BMW and it was punch-through city. Once he moved them up, he was good to go. If your area has a Truspeed and you mounted that low, you're gonna get a ticket

That's a small black car going against the easiest gun there is to jam on a nice straight, relatively flat road.

Do it right or don't do it!! Trust me once you get a few laser saves you will feel invulnerable and start to drive a bit faster. Then you get owned.

ok. so i need to find someone to install asap when i get money....
OR - someone said maybe i could just use the brackets? Can't use screws because the grille is kinda like a plastic mesh....maybe like super strong epoxy?
