I remember when Instant On came out people were practically throwing RDs away. A RD should be just one of the tools you use to avoid speeding tickets. If you're depending upon that alone you're already in trouble.

Is Ku band coming back? I wasn't aware that it was ever used here in the US.

    Default we shall see

Regarding the ku band we shall see about this in time. For now, I wouldn't worry about it.

Default agreed on the ku band...although

Agreeed on the ku band nma this is my exact feelings i firmily beleive tho it is just a marketing ploy by the detector manufactures to sell new units at a 450 dollar price tag!! Even roy credits its possible...although if you notice he also states in his videos that he wouldn't even solely base his buying decision on it and i choose to take roys word on that as ive had it turned on for ever and nothing! Not even a speed sign with it so.. ya it may come around in like 20yrs but not anytime soon if it does...maybe even never.. they like there ka band too much i don't forsee them moving away from that anytime soon! Also GTO bout that undetectable radar it could be done..just like anything else it is possible. They could put more than enough power behind it..So lets just pray to god they don't chooose to!! and they keep there ka radar! I doubt they will if law enforcement knew about this i gurentee you'd see mad money dumped on it the end of radar detectors would be their slogan to ... so like i said i hope it stays quiet infact i really didn't even wana mention it in here!! This stuff is just deadly and ugly and yes it very well would work! Its common sense just like veil is to us and very practical.. Although i would highly like to remain optomistic and hope it never circumvents although i know deep down i shouldn't be that niave either! If the man thinks he has a better and new way to get you hes gonna try! Never forget that!

You ever use a CB radio before im sure alot of you have... right?

You've all im sure turned one on and heard the squelch shhhhhhhhhhhhh static sound? RIte?

K that is the noise plain...the static ... soo if you tried building a detector to pick up the frequency being transmitted in that plain you would receive a constant

beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep

As bad as rite aid and best buy being every building on the street

Making any detector utterly useless!!! There would be no point in even manufacturing one if this technology does spread lets pray not!!

Its already out there people!! Watch for it soon! At a Leo's car near you!!

its called Ultra Wide Band or UWB for short and its gotten FCC approval for 3.1-10.6 Ghz. Tyco electronics has a bunch of sensors available at http://www.macom.com/macom_prodnews.asp?ID=1094 which do that. However, there are two problems. the FCC has limited the transmit power so that they are only good upto 30m. so until the FCC allows increased power its not going to work. Secondly people have got the patents for it http://www.freepatentsonline.com/5361070.html so they need to license it. next 5+ years might see something but not now.

    Default see...

See... so it may come to that...but we can cross our fingers for now...Unfortantly like I stated before i see it moving that way in the future... If they can find a way to beat a detector you bet there gonna more than attempt it! But Like the other user stated i don't forsee this technology becomeing a problem any time soon but you best beleive it is out there and it very well could work if it was made too!
